171 ex-commercial hens need retirement homes.

The British Hen Welfare Trust (BHWT) is appealing to animal lovers across South Marston, Swindon and the surrounding north Wiltshire area to help find retirement homes for 171 ex-commercial free-range laying hens.

The charity is holding a rehoming event in South Marston, Wiltshire, on Saturday 19 September 2026.

Bookings close at 3pm on Friday 18 September.
