Station Presenter Martin Upfold has a passion for music - Brass Band music in particular. He was diagnosed with Parkinsons just a few years ago and benefits from support from the local Parkinsons group.
Martin manages to continue to present his weekly programmes, recording them, but intends working towards presenting live again.
He also intends showing that individuals can achieve amazing personal achievements if there is a real desire and passion. So - why not parachute jump out of a plane at 15,000 feet!
Martin is now taking on the sponsored jump on Saturday 14th June - in aid of SWINDON 105.5 and Parkinsons.
Martin says:-
"Due to me suffering from chest infection and with my sponsored Skydive due on 11th April, I need to make sure my health is better for my planned sky dive from 15,000 feet. I am determined to do this, but it has been re-scheduled for SATURDAY 14TH JUNE (THE KING'S BIRTHDAY!) This will also enable me to continue to fundraise towards my £10,000 target. The new date is a Saturday so hopefully this will also enable more supporters to be able to travel to Old Sarum to see me. It is a change for the better. Thank you for your support."
